Kim, my faithful wife and gospel sharing partner, has been reading the Scriptures "on the box" on city street corners here and there in Ottawa for the last 3 years. Usually, I would follow up with to open air preach the gospel. Recently, however, she has sensed a calling from the Holy Spirit to not only read the gospel but to preach it, as well.
This video is of Kim stationed at the gates to the University of Ottawa on Sept 17, 2012. She spent much time in prayer, research and preparation in order to build her confidence and her trust was in God to see her through her presentation. It is our hope that this video will be a source of encouragement to other Christian women who sense a calling to do the same.

Surely, i am encouraged more then ever after viewing this video. Discouragement sets in more times than i would like to admit yet, today God had something in mind when i stopped by to check on The Word Street Journal's current posts...refreshment for my soul.
ReplyDeleteI started a blog simply to witness to my catholic and non-believing co-workers. I hope you don't mind, i would like to feature this video on my blog site for a twofold reason...first, to get the Gospel out and secondly to let women know that they can and should share God's Good News.
Yes, dear sister, God''s Word is sharper than any two-edge sword. I believe God pierced many a hearts all for his Glory on that college campus.
On a final note, I hope and pray that i can hear more from you Kim in these last days.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words of encouragement. If the video inspires even one then we have done our job in sharing it. Getting up on the box is not easiest thing, yet we know from experience that God blesses obedience. With PRAYER and confidence not in ourselves but in the Spirit of God to speak thru us broken vessels it's like as we begin to speak and the Lord takes over from there.
Like the apostle Paul confessed, we are far from polished speakers. But God doesn't care about that as He works the power of His word thru whoever is on the box anyway. Not that everyone is called to be on the box, but those who are sincere in presenting God's word thru Scripture and the gospel in spirit and in truth, God does His work thru them. So praise the Lord. The glory is all His.
Feature away, sister. Use the video for whatever means that will be an encouragement to others and glorify God in the process.
Yes, there is more coming up. Chris Curry joined us last week at U of O and there are two videos featuring Chris and Kim on the box that are being worked on. Wait until you hear Kim's opening statement, telling of the two greatest fears people have in life.
