THE URGENCY TO PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL

One week ago today, Kim got up on the box at the gates of the University of Ottawa to proclaim the gospel via the Scriptures and open air preaching. Hundreds upon hundreds of students passed as some stood by in the near half hour that the gospel was being heralded.

Three days later, the news media reported that two University of Ottawa students were killed on impact in a car crash. Could it be that these two students passed by Kim last Monday and heard a portion of the gospel long enough to question their own mortality and what would happen to them if they were soon to die.? Only God, of course, knows that for sure.

They might have already been true followers of Christ, born again Christians. If so, then they are in the comfort of their promised reward in heaven, guaranteed. But if they died outside of the grace of God through Christ, the sad reality is that they are in hell.

Either way, one thing for sure is this: ten seconds before they died, they did not know they only had ten seconds left to live. Did they know that, "It is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment." ? (Hebrews 9:24)

We're they ready?

Nobody on earth knows when their time is up and sinners need to be made right with God on THIS side of the grave before they die, for there will be no mercy dispensed on Judgment Day.

Hence, the urgency for Christians to care enough for the souls of the lost to be out wherever people gather in the public square whenever possible to boldly, compassionately proclaim the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is our duty as servants of the Most High to proclaim to them that...

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12
