RESURRECTION SUNDAY OUTREACH

Following up on Mission Good Friday came Resurrection Sunday when, again, following a wonderful time of worship and luncheon fellowship, six of us from EBC went out to the main intersection in the Westboro neighbourhood of Ottawa to exalt the name of Christ, proclaim His resurrection from the dead and present the His saving gospel by tract, by cross and by voice.

One person, each holding a cross, stood on one of the four corners of the intersection as pedestrians and cars went by. Three quarters of the cross holders happened to be made up of the Pomerleau family, an evangelizing father, mother and son team. Denis Pomerleau is our church elder. Pastor Bob Doble was another cross bearer. The remaining two of us helped in the distribution of gospel tracts and I took to the stand to read the resurrection account from God's holy word followed by a presentation the gospel in the open air.

For this post, I'm just going to let the pictures tell the story. Needless to say, God was again glorified in the public square by the simple efforts of a few on this the most important day of the Christian calendar.

Can you imagine what it would be like if all bible believing churches took to the corners of the streets to exalt the name of Christ and and be a bold witness for Him in this fashion?

I can.
