STAY TUNED

My brother in Christ and friend, James, joined me Sunday to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ before the annual Ottawa gay pride parade and stand as a witness to Him during the parade with our crosses.

Some were horrified as God was glorified. Despite, however, the negative and angry reaction of some, the gospel was proclaimed as well as could be under the circumstances. Many heard.

As James and I stood with our crosses, at one point we were surrounded by an atheist group who broke from the parade and we were publicly mocked and laughed at.

We are grateful to the Lord for His presence and protection while we were there. And we are grateful to our many brothers and sisters who had been in prayer for us these past few weeks as we prepared for this event.

Kim was there, as well, armed with her cameras documenting our gospel efforts. We hope to have videos and photos up on the blog in the next few days.

Please stay tuned.

A FOOL FOR CHRIST'S SAKE

Tony Miano, a brother in Christ, friend and fellow street evangelist in California (whom the Lord inspired to impliment the "Are You Ready" cross, one year ago) gives us a wonderful perspective on what it is like to witness the gospel of Jesus Christ by one of the many ways he does so: at a traffic intersection while people in cars wait for their light to turn green.

This 5 minute video depicts all the different kinds of reactions gospel harbingers receive from people as they proclaim the Good News of the gospel within the public square.

Take a look for yourself.

What a fool!

Would you be caught dead doing this?

Not me!

But you might catch me doing that while I was still alive. Actually, you can count on it.

I hope this is an encourgement for you. It is for me.

HOLY GOSPEL, BATMAN !

Ottawa is the capital city of Canada.

It's known as a 'government town'. Politcians, dignitaries, civil servants are the mainstream pedestrians in the downtown core on most days.

Not so on Saturday.

Kim and I spent our Saturday morning, as we usually do with our friends from church, handing out a boatload of gospel tracts to the throng of tourists at the Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Parliament Hill.

Following that, while walking back to our car, we bumped into Batman.

Yep. Batman. You know, the super-hero. With a cup of bat-coffee in his hand.

I stopped him to ask where he was going.

He said "I'm on my way to save the world."

I said, "Too late. Already done!"

Enter in a gospel conversation that was short, to the point and seemed to strike Batman's bat-fancy. He couldn't chat long because he had to be where he was going at a certain time for a scavenger hunt of some sort.

But he stayed long enough to get the gist of what I was saying, willingly receive a gospel tract and say to me as he left with a smile, "God bless you."

Hmm. A bat-blessing. For what it's worth, I'll take it!

It's not like Ottawa is Hollywood. Who would have thunk that on our latest gospel giving venture we would bump into Batman on the street?

Who says the Lord doesn't have a sense of humor?

CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Yet another simple means of getting the gospel into the hands and hearts of the lost.

It's really quite simple: just go where the crowds are and do what God has called you to do.

This sample is of a small group of us who go out every Saturday morning to the Changing of the Guard ceremony on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Tourist attractions like this are a breeze to hand out gospel tracts at. A smile, a motion of your hand and you go home with alot less tracts than what you brought.

You have given out the gospel and you have joyfully served the Lord in the process, giving Him the glory He so rightly deserves.

It's really that simple.

Be encouraged and go.
